Cinnamon Roll Bliss: Mastering Rhodes Cinnamon Rolls like a pro!

Hey there, friends! Today, I’m super excited to share with you one of my all-time favorite baking secrets: Rhodes Rolls, cinnamon rolls. And, yes, I am ALL ABOUT making homemade if you can but if you are in a pinch or baking for a crowd and don’t have the bandwidth to create from scratch… these are a great choice.  

And, If you’re anything like me, you know that there are few things in life more comforting than the smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls floating through your home.  These little bundles of joy are not only delicious but also incredibly easy to make, thanks to Rhodes’ convenient pre-rolled dough.

Alright, let’s get right to it.
Step 1: Prep Like a Pro

To get started, grab your favorite 9” x 13” baking pan or an 11” x 17” baking sheet, depending on your preference. Give it a light spritz of cooking spray or line with parchment paper to ensure those rolls come out effortlessly. 

Now, it’s time to arrange your frozen Rhodes Cinnamon Rolls evenly on the pan. Don’t forget to cover them with plastic wrap sprayed with cooking spray to prevent sticking while they rise to perfection.

Step 2: Rise and Shine

Now, here’s where the magic happens. Allow your rolls to rise for 3 to 5 hours, or until they double in size. Keep an eye on them, as the actual rising time may vary depending on the temperature of your kitchen. Remember, patience is key here. Don’t overproof your rolls, as they’ll continue to rise while baking, resulting in pillowy perfection. 

Refrigerator Thaw Option (For Planning Ahead)

If you’re a master of planning and prefer to take the slow and steady route, you can opt for refrigerator thawing. Simply prepare your rolls as directed in Step 1, then pop them in the fridge for a leisurely thawing session lasting 8 to 16 hours. Once they’re thawed and ready to go, let them continue to rise at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours, if needed. Then, proceed with Step 3 for baking, and voila – cinnamon roll perfection awaits!

Step 3: Bake to Golden Perfection

Once your rolls have doubled in size and are ready to rock, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Carefully remove the plastic wrap from your now-fluffy rolls, and pop them into the oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and irresistibly aromatic.  Trust me, your kitchen will smell like cinnamon heaven!

Step 4: Frosting Fun

But wait, we’re not done yet! Don’t forget the frosting!  You have 2 delicious options here:

If you prefer a creamy-style frosting, allow your rolls to cool slightly before spreading on the frosting. This will give you that smooth, bakery-worthy finish that melts in your mouth.

But if you simply can’t wait to dive in, while your rolls are still warm and oozing with cinnamon goodness, you can bring on the frosting.  Spread it over the warm rolls and it will melt into every nook an cranny.
